Is Gorilla Gainz free?
The app is free to download. Tracking, the camera counter, profiles, groups, sessions, live workouts and challenges are free. Only note logging, voice logging and deeper stats are Premium.
What does Premium cost?
€3.99 a month or €29.99 a year (about €2.50 a month). The yearly plan starts with 7 days free. Cancel any time in the App Store or Google Play.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhones with iOS 18 or newer, and Android phones. One account works on both.
Which languages are there?
German and English. The app follows your phone's language, and any other language shows English. Exercise names and search work in both.
How old do I have to be?
14 or older. Accounts under 18 start private. Verified challenge rounds with video start at 16.
How does the rep counter work, and does it record me?
Your phone's camera counts push-ups, pull-ups and dips on the device, also offline. Free counting saves and uploads nothing. Only a verified challenge round keeps a short clip for 30 days, from age 16 and with your OK.
How does the streak work? What if I am ill?
A day counts when you post one workout you did that day, even one set. A post only you can see counts too. If you are ill or injured, tap Pause: the streak waits as long as you need, and nobody asks why.
Who can see my workouts and profile?
You choose. Adult accounts are public by default and accounts under 18 start private, and you can switch either way. A post goes to friends unless you pick everyone, a group or only you.
Do I need friends or a group to use it?
No. Training, the camera counter, your history and the spot map work on your own. Friends and groups make it more fun.
Does it work offline?
Training, logging and camera counting work without signal. Posts and uploads wait and send themselves when you are back online. Live workouts, the map and spot pages need a connection.
Will it spam me with notifications?
No marketing pushes. At most 10 social pushes a day, one streak reminder a day at a time you choose, and quiet hours from 22:00 to 08:00. You can turn each kind off.
How do I delete my account or export my data?
In the app: Profile › Settings › Account › Delete account. Your account is hidden at once and gone for good after 14 days, and you can keep it by signing in before then. You can export your data in the app, and without the app by writing to datenschutz@gorillagainz.app.
How do I add a spot, and are the spots open data?
Any account older than 24 hours can add a spot with a photo, rate it and report its condition. The spots come from OpenStreetMap and people like you, and we publish them monthly as an open download under the ODbL.
How do I report someone or get help?
Tap the three dots on a post, profile, group or session and report it. Reports are anonymous, and you hear back. Blocking takes two taps. For anything else write to support@gorillagainz.app.
