Box jump
The box jump is a jump from the floor onto a box with both feet. Expect your quads, glutes and calves to work hardest, with your hamstrings and abs joining in. It builds explosive leg power. Use a stable box that will not slide, and start low. Swing your arms, land softly in the middle of the box and stand tall. Step down instead of jumping down, which is easier on your knees and ankles. Raise the box only when your landings are quiet and controlled.
