Deep squat hold

Also called Resting squat, Asian squat, Malasana

The deep squat hold is a hold at the bottom of a squat. You sink down with your heels on the floor and stay there. It trains your quads and glutes, with help from your calves, hamstrings and abs, and it works on ankle and hip mobility. It is a natural resting position that many people lose, and practice brings it back. Press your knees out with your elbows and keep your chest up. If your heels lift, hold on to a support.
