Jumping jack
Also called Star jumps
The jumping jack is a simple jump where your feet go apart and your arms go overhead, then back together. The main load falls on your calves, quads and shoulders, supported by your glutes and abs, and it raises your heart rate. It is a classic warm-up and also works for short cardio sets. You can count reps or work for a set time. Land softly with loose knees and keep a steady rhythm. Step out to the sides without jumping if your joints complain.
