Skater jumps
Also called Skaters, Speed skaters, Skater hops
The skater jump is a sideways leap from one leg to the other, like a speed skater. You land on one leg and swing your arms along for balance. It trains your glutes, quads and calves, with help from your hamstrings and abs, and it challenges your balance and sideways power. Land softly with your knee over your foot, and settle each landing before the next jump. Start with small jumps and short sets, on a surface that does not slip.
