Standing long jump

Also called Broad jump, Standing broad jump

The standing long jump is a jump forward from a standing start with both feet. You swing your arms, push off hard and land as far away as you can. The main load falls on your quads, glutes and hamstrings, supported by your calves, abs and lower back, and it builds explosive power. Bend your knees and swing your arms back before you jump. Land softly with bent knees and your weight over your feet. Rest between jumps so that each one is a full effort.
