Sumo squat
Also called Wide-stance squat, Plié squat
The sumo squat is a squat with a wide stance and your toes turned out. It mostly works your quads and glutes, and your hamstrings, calves and abs assist. It is a good variation if a narrow stance feels cramped in your hips. Push your knees out over your toes and keep your chest up. Lower straight down, not forward. Add weight, such as a backpack, when it feels easy.
